Newcastle Adventure

Back in January I bought tickets for Andrew and I to see Imagine Dragons for his birthday. I was so excited to see them. There first album is one of my favourites, Andrew and I use to listen to it all the time while we were dating, when ever I hear those songs now I remember the road trips we took and the hours we sat up talking with that album on in the background. We even played one of there songs in our wedding service. We decided that we wanted to make a whole day of it so blocked it out in our diary and planned a whole day of adventure, exploring the shops, markets, eating yummy food, drinking coffee and mooching. I mean its so good to mooch isn't it?

We honestly had the best day. We set off pretty early and our course listened to Imagine Dragons on the way. When we arrived we walked as fast as we could to Frankie and Bennys so we could get there before the breakfast menu stopped, I mean breakfast is the most important meal of the day and the best in my eyes. The thing I loved about Frankies was they were playing Christmas music and had a tree up. Yay, holidays are coming.

After breakfast with our full bellies we explored the Christmas markets and many guitar shops.

We just wandered around Newcastle occasionally popping into shops. It was so nice to just wander with no where really to go. I love the country town that I live in now but I lived in Liverpool for 5 years so there is something about the hustle and bustle of a city, the graffiti walls and random streets that I just love.

We knew without a doubt that if we were in Newcastle we had to go and see the Fenwick Christmas windows. They were so magical, I loved that people were queuing to see the famous festive windows.

After all the adventures we were ready for more food, what can I say. We love to eat, well I do. Especially pizza.

It was finally Imagine Dragons time. They were so good and so worth the 9 months wait. I am so glad we got to see them they are seriously talented.

I honestly had the best day ever with Andrew and my heart is so happy today. I also spent the majority of the day off social media and I have to say it was so good to unplug from my phone for a while and just spend some time with that handsome face.

Here's to many more adventures.
Hope you have all had an amazing weekend.

Kitchen Tour

Good Morning everyone. Its Monday and its officially my day off! YAY.

For the last few weeks Andrew and I have been working so hard re vamping our kitchen. When we moved in this was the room I hated the most, so we knew we needed to do something to make it look better.

We have worked so hard.
To see all our before, during and after pictures head over to my 'DIY Kitchen' post. You will be able to see what we did and now what it looks like.

This post is all about giving you a little tour of our kitchen. Showing you what we have and where we got it from.

We really are so pleased with it.

Enjoy.

THE WINDOWSILL OVER LOOKING THE GARDEN

I love this smell so much. Its refreshing and very much a clean smell. Yankee Candles are a tad expensive but I believe they are well worth the investment. They last for ages and you can really smell the scents.

We were bought this candle topper and I love it, my only complaint is it heats up and is so hot to touch when trying to blow out the candle.

Love Birds Calendar from New Look.
I received this a couple of years ago from a friend for Christmas but remember seeing it myself in New Look. The only thing with this is I always forget to change the date. It will be like this now probably till Christmas.

Now I am not a plant girl at all and well Cacti are funny looking things aren't they!!! But I just loved the cuteness of these 3 little white pots and what was in them. When I was in Ikea last week I just needed to have them in my life. At first I had no idea where we would put them but they work perfectly on our windowsill. Also I remember to water them then, are you even meant to water Cactus, I don't even know!!!

We recently got married and for decorations we bought a lot of theses milk bottle vases from Ikea. They are so cheap at the bargain price of £1 (WHAT!!) We use them for everything including flowers and of course milkshakes and smoothies. I picked up two stems of these flowers for £1 from the local pet shop 3 weeks ago and they are still going strong.

I love these letters. They cost me £1.50 each and we painted them with a dark green paint which we have on our dining room walls. I love letters and we have a few A + C's around the house. These look so cute on our windowsill.

THE WORKTOPS

We received this as a gift when we moved into the house and as you can see it is well used. It is so nice to have some hand soap next to the sink. You have know idea how many times it has come in handy. Also it smells a lot nicer on your hands than washing up liquid.

I love a good Pound shop and when I saw this cute green plant pot bucket I knew I needed it. Where for I had know idea. It has been used for a plant, for pegs and now it is in its final place holding washing up liquid and cloths. I really love the green and with the other colours of the kitchen it really works. Its also nice to have some where for all those washing up bits.

We bought this along with our coffee, tea and sugar jars that you will see coming up as a set for £9.99. It was seriously such a good bargain and we love them. They are a cream colour, wash well and are good sizes. We think they fit perfectly in our kitchen.

Being honest I am not a fan of fake flowers to me they look fake. But I really like these ones. We bought them again as decorations for our wedding but with the green, cream and greys I think they really work. I love seeing them with the cream of the bread bin and utensil pot as well as the wood of the chopping board and spoons. Also they cost £2.99 you can't really go wrong can you.

We bought this to match the bread bin from home bargains for £2.00. It was so cheap and is perfect to pop in all those things you know you will need while you are cooking.

We were bought two of these slate hearts for our wedding and I just love having them on the side. I wanted to have this one next to the cooker so we could use it for wooden spoons etc and keep all that mess in one place. We have used these for many things including hot pans, displaying cakes as well as cheese. They are just so versatile. I am not sure where they are from but I found some similar in Dunelm.

Along from all of that we have our built in cooker and these two plaques.

I am not a fan of the tiles, I mean have you seen them. The plan next is to do something with them but for now I am just trying to hide as much of them as I can. So we have put these two plaques at the back of our cooker top. It adds some colour and a bit of fun to the kitchen.

Next to the cooker we have our little drinks station.

These were bought in a set with the bread bin and we just love them. They do the job as they say.

Its a kettle, it has pretty lights when you switch it on, it heats up water. Pretty good all round really.

On the other side of the kitchen we have this worktop space.

Retro Chocolate Bar Tin was a gift.
I am obsessed with Curly Wurlys so when a friend saw this tin she had to buy it for us. We just love it. Its perfect to put in all our yummy biscuits.

Recipe for Love was also a gift.
I love a good sign. Can you tell.

This machine is the BEST. It does the best coffee and hot chocolate. I recently made a hot chocolate from this in my Currently Loving #2 post. Its just the best and definitely worth the investment.

Its a toaster. It toasts bread. It matches the kettle. All these things make me happy.

Cook Books.
These a just a few books we have collected over the last few months. I've never once looked at them. I probably should. :)

Microwave.
The most basic of microwave but we are happy with it.

OTHER LITTLE TOUCHES

True Love Heart hanging on the handle to the back door. (See I do love a good sign)

I love that we have this blackboard. I am slightly obsessed with it, I am constantly changing it.
The basket on top of the cupboard we found, but now holds all of our crisps. It definitely adds to the country feel we wanted for the kitchen.

The cupboard and drawer handles had to be changed. They were awful and now I think these ones are perfect for our country kitchen. They were so easy to put on as we made sure they were the same size as the ones we took off.

PAINT

Cupboards and Drawers we used...
Diall Wood Primer and Undercoat.
Valspar Milk and Honey Eggshell.

Walls we used...
Dulux Pebble Shore.

So there we have it. Our country inspired kitchen. We still have some bits left to do (like those tiles) but for now we are done and so happy with it.

Much love to that handsome face that is my husband. He has worked so hard on it and it really has turned out amazing.

I hope you have enjoyed these little DIY / tour posts. I am hoping to do a few more as we finish off the rest of the house.

Much Love.

DIY Kitchen

When I was about 11 I went to stay at a friends house. She lived in this cute farmhouse in the middle of know where. I loved being there so much. The doors were so tiny I had to duck down to walk into rooms. She would have sheep in here back garden and woke up every day to the sound of the cockerel crowing. I loved spending time in her cute house. But there was one room that I loved and that was the kitchen. I remember thinking to myself the first day I walked in, that I wanted a kitchen like this when I got older.

There kitchen screamed country/farmhouse, they had cream cupboards, fresh flowers, cute little decorations and plaques and the most amazing sink. I mean a proper FULL on sink do you know what I mean.

Ever since then I have longed for a country kitchen, so when we moved into our house and it didn't have that we had big plans. We knew that we would not be able to rip the kitchen out and re start from scratch as well, we spent all our money on a wedding and a house. But we decided that we could just re vamp what we had.

So one weekend Andrew set out on the mission of re doing our kitchen. Needless to say it took a bit longer that a week.

Here is what it looked like before....

*Pretty GRIM or what.

We decided that we would....
Sand all cupboards and drawers
Prime and then paint
Buy some new handles and some new cute things as d├ęcor
Paint the walls
Under cupboard lighting

So not much to do really (?!) but as you can imagine it was not easy. There was so much mess, dust and paint everywhere.

...and here is what it looks like now.

I just love it. It is so different to before. That Andrew is a good egg.
There are still a few bits we need to do like sorting out wires and those trim things at the bottom of the cupboards.

I really am a huge fan of the changes we have made.

I have also posted another post with some more detail pictures and links to be able to find some of the things we bought so click (here) and go and check that out if you would like.

But for now I am off to make some lunch and to enjoy our beautiful new kitchen.

An Anxious Heart

Since about the age of 18 anxious and paranoid thoughts is something I have had to struggle with everyday.

So many time I've backed out and not done things because of feeling super anxious or worried about so many different things that could/would happen.

Psalm 119 vs 11 says...
'I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.'

One day I made the choice to store up Gods word in my heart. The reason why I did that was for those times those anxious thoughts reared there ugly head. With every thought that I struggled with I would fight back with a verse that I stored up in my heart.

You have know idea how many times I have found myself in places and situations where I have literally had to repeat these verses out loud.

So here they are 10 bible verse for an anxious heart. I really encourage you to store these up in your heart. Remember them. Use them and hold on to them.

Proverbs 3 vs 5
'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding.'

Philippians 4 vs 6
'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.'

Psalm 91 vs 4
'He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.'

Jeremiah 29 vs 11
'For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'

Philippians 4 vs 13
'For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'

Matthew 6 vs 34
'So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.'

Isaiah 41 vs 10
'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'

Psalm 56 vs 3
'When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.'

Isaiah 40 vs 31
'But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not go weary, they will walk and not faint.'

John 14 vs 27
'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.'

There is so many more I could add. But if you are struggling with anxiety start to store up Gods word your heart. Use it to fight back.

Currently Loving... #2

Welcome back lovely ones.

Its been a while since my last Currently Loving and well things have changed and I am loving a whole host of new things. It is literally FREEZING so as you read on you will see that many of my current loves are essentials for the colder, winter season that we are now in.

So instead of me rambling and doing a crazy long intro lets just get stuck in.
So here they are, All the things I am Currently Loving.

So many people have been raving about this at the moment. Gabby from Velvet Ghost recently mentioned it in her October Favourites and I have seen so many people blogging about it or using it in make up tutorials on Youtube. But I have to say I been a HUGE fan of this for a long time. I am very much a Seventeen girl at heart and it really is my go to make up. When Seventeen bought out this set I had to get my hands on it ASAP.
This product saw me through the summer where I used the darker shade more as a bronzer after I returned from holiday and now winter is approaching and my tan has faded I am all about contouring again. If you are new to all this contouring malarkey I highly recommend this as it is not expensive, it comes with instructions of how to use and where to put it, the packaging is good and the mirror is HUGE which I love, I hate nothing more than plasticy packaging that easily breaks and when you buy products with the smallest mirror in the world where you can only see half you chin

I am a big fan of all things Soap & Glory and well when I received this as a gift for Christmas last year it some how ended up in the forgotten box of extra beauty products.
Having recently moved a couple of months ago I re found this product and decided now was the time to try it.
I am now so mad with myself that I stored it away for so long. I am not good at moisturising and I know, I know all your beauty gurus out there will be screaming at me about the importance of it, but my problem is I just don't have time to wait for it to dry. I am impatient and I just have not found one that works for me until now.
The thing I love about this moisturiser is that you massage it into wet skin so I don't even have to wait to dry properly after a shower I can just massage it in and it really does melt while you massage.
I love the fruit smell to it and the packaging of course. I am a sucker for good packaging and Soap & Glory nail it every time don't they?

I recently popped into Primark for a look around. You can never have a look around in Primark can you, you always come out with something. As I was wandering around killing time I saw a deal on some jumpers. They were originally £10 but now down to £7.90 so I knew I couldn't pass up on that beauty. These jumpers are amazing and so on trend at the moment. I love the large oversized box shaped body but then they have tight sleeves. The neckline is quite wide so you could really wear this with a shirt and cute knecklace. But for me this is the ultimate lazy girl jumper that you can dress up or down. It was also available in a ton of colours but I went for this dark green.

We started watching Arrow about a year ago and I just was not feeling it at all. I think we were watching to many other things at the same time and I couldn't concentrate on too many story lines you know!
But once I mourned the end of House we needed to find a new series so we decided to try Arrow again and well, I am official hooked. That guy, the man in green and the hood. He is a good looker. I love that there is two story lines going on at the same time, there is the present day in Starling City and then 5 years previous (?) on this crazy crazy island called Lian Yu.
It is so good. Its now Friday night and Andrew has just got home and already I can't wait to eat tea and put Arrow on.
Looking for a new series go and check it out!

October has been the month of Vlogtober and this month I have been obsessed with Miss Budget Beauty who has a vlogging channel called Diary of a Spendaholic and Emma from Its Em. These have literally been my go to channels through the last month. I just love, love, love, love there vlogs and there families. I feel like I know them and are there best friends, which of course I am most definitely not. But I am so excited for them to do Vlogmas already.

Last week I found myself having a wander around some charity shops in my local town. I love a good charity shop if I am being honest, its amazing what you can find.
As I was raking through the racks I came across an amazing River Island oversized large scarf. On one side there is a pink tartan print and the other is a camel colour. I love that it is reversible. All clothes need to be reversible I say. This scarf has not been off. I love how it looks with my black leather jacket but also my parka jacket. The other day while in the office it was so nice to grab the scarf and wrap it around me instead of putting on a coat. I have no idea if this scarf is still available in River Island, it probably isn't, but at the moment there are tons of oversized scarves out there.

I live no where near a Lush store so when I do find myself in a place where there is one I am all over it. I've seen lots of people rave about the Comforter so I though you know what I will give it a try. I love this so much. It smells like Ribena. All you do is pop some under the running water and it breaks off into the water and turns the bath pink and creates bubbles. This bath bomb really does smell so good and I love it so much. I am loving having baths at the moment all because of this bath bomb.

Winter is here and I am well and truly craving Hot Chocolates. We have a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and well up until recently I had no idea how to use it but after a very extensive lesson from Andrew I know do (which is probably now a bad idea as we are going through pods so fast.)
Dolce Gusto machine is run by pods and we recently bought the Caramel Hot Chocolate and OH MY it is soooo good. I am obsessed. Every night at the moment I just want to sit on the sofa in my dressing gown and pjs, watch arrow and drink Hot Chocolate with cream. I think I might go do that now. If you have this machine definitely try these caramel hot chocolates. They are delish!

I have always hated dressing gowns. No joke, I have been bought so many in the past and just never worn them. But in my older age I just started wanting one so badly. So finally I picked myself up one from Primark. It was £15 and honestly it is the fluffiest things I have ever worn. It has a hood and isn't too long but perfect for me. I now will quite happily get out of my warm bed on a cold morning because I have this amazing dressing gown to put on. So this winter I highly recommend you get yourself one.

This is a album I loved probably 6 months ago. But recently it came on shuffle on my iPod and I have completely fallen in love with it all over again. My favourite song is 'We Dance.' The words are so beautiful and are so good for my soul. This album is incredibly anointed and when ever I listen to it I feel completely drawn into Gods presence. I just love love love love this album.

...........................................

So quite the mixture of things, but what are you loving at the moment I would love to know???
